I've already tried my luck over at reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comme ... x_my_game/) but this seems to be a more specific problem.
Without "changing anything" (Haha, there must be a change somewhere otherwise I would not have this problem) my game on my current base only gets around 20fps (was 60fps) yesterday.
Starting the game changed from < 10 seconds to > 1 minute
FPS in current Base from constant 60 fps/ups to (depending on zoom level) 10-60 fps with 60 ups for all the time
Main Menu from No Problems for any version to No menu buttons on all versions, only 0.16.xx has a menu (all game starts with other versions only display the factorio background)
Sprites from No Problems for any version to some things or even just parts of sprites are invisible (mostly trains and shadows)
What I've already tried:
- re-installing the game a few times
- uninstalling the creative mod
- loading other save games
- loading current base with different versions of factorio
- installing game on different SSD drive
- rebooting
- switching video settings (tried almost every combination in the past hours)
- Blueprinting the whole base into a new game (instant placement from newly downloaded creative mod), again losing fps depending on zoom level
- deleting %appdata%/factorio folder
- Installing standalone version instead of using steam version
After uninstalling the mod , the sprites got displayed correctly again (have you ever been killed by an invisivle train?)
I have no problems in any other game, my drivers didn't change and I also did not change any video settings in factorio.
Currently I'm pretty clueless what causes this behaviour. Looking into the task manager the game needs around 3GB of Ram and 20% CPU and 10% GPU in my current base. These are the same values I had some days earlier where everything went fine. This values do not change when zooming in or out but fps drops from 60 down to 10-20 when zoomed out at max level
Maybe someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!
