[16.36] Failed to sendHeartbeat Message Spam

Post by Wululululu »

Hi,
I have the following issue hosting my factorio server. The log gets spammed with the folloing messageblock:

Code: Select all

46.084 code:28, 1c; Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 20 seconds
  46.084 Info HttpSharedState.cpp:143: Downloading https://multiplayer.factorio.com/update-game/1552398
  46.084 Info HttpSharedState.cpp:145: Status code: 0
46.084 Info MatchingServer.cpp:101: Failed to sendFullState to the multiplayer matching server: Download failed (status code 0).
The server itself is running fine. Players can connect, we can play the game nicely.
But the message block above appears randomly between every 40 and 200 seconds in my logs.
The server is hosted on a public IP address, no nat, running on debian linux with a factorio only user. The factorio server port is allowed in iptables. Outgoing traffic is allowed.
It does not matter if players are connected, how many players are connected, or if no one is connected.
I have no idea why this message appears so often. But it is not a version specific error. I had this error in version 0.15.x too, with the same frequency.

Searching for the error only turns up search results with crashing servers/games. But that is not the case for me. I'm just getting spammed by this message block and want to remove the cause for it.

Okay I seem to have fixed it for now.
  • Stopped the server
  • Set visibility public to false
  • Started the server and stopped it again
  • Set visibility back to true
  • Restarted the server
The messages have not appeared again since then (it's been over an hour now).
