TextDisplay - infinitely scaleable display

Post by greenyaptec »

Hi,

I created a simple, yet powerful display for displaying numbers and letters.

In theory, it can hold 62 different symbols in memory. However, this version holds only 36, which is enough for numbers 0-9 and whole alphabet. You can also replace the memory only and have a completely different set of symbols.

How to use:
1) get the blueprint string from this post
2) place as many displays as you want directly near each other
3) connect the poles included in blueprint with both red and green wire
4) connect your input into the combinator on the left side of the pole with green wire. Input has to be a black signal, you can also add color. The number of the input decides which symbol to use:
0 -> blank space
1-9 -> numbers 1-9
10 -> number 0
11 -> A
12 -> B
...
36 -> Z
5) enjoy!

YouTube video with deep explanation and showcase coming soon (it is rendering now)!
