Since i played the last time Factorio, things must have changed a lot because my one trusty Train Station does not work anymore like it should. I even loaded an old savegame to ensure it's not the Blueprint's fault or something like this. I added the Savegame so you can hopefully please help me to find the problem because it is really anoying.
I am totaly sure this worked once. At the moment I use the latest stable Version.
The Problem is that the Trains don't use the upper 2 Stations of each column until i remove the rails to the lower stations or rename one of the lower stations to something else. I don't know how to fix this.
I use some mods like atamic Robots or infinity chest but i don't know how one of them could affact this in any way

The pathfinder has been changed often and yes, this setup does not work with the current version. A reliably working setup needs to have all stations about the same distance from the entrance to the stations, so they are equally attractive.

But what you can do now is not leave it up to the trains - you can set stations to be disabled based on circuit conditions. Judging by the screenshot this is a cargo unload/transfer setup. With combinators, determine which of the station has the lowest cargo total, then disable the others. The train will always go to the active station.

Simply replacing all normal signals with chain signals inside the upper station "Ø" should also work

I never used combinators ever before, but i will try this.Aeternus wrote:But what you can do now is not leave it up to the trains - you can set stations to be disabled based on circuit conditions. and this of course as welleradicator wrote:Simply replacing all normal signals with chain signals inside the upper station "Ø" should also work

You want trains to stop at a point where they can change their mind. That first fork lets trains commit to going left or right before knowing if they should. Their AI will not decide to fly through the left or right side to hit the far away station because they want to hit the closest station always. They must first see that the close stations are blocked, then they will go down the middle path to hit the next two stations.
Place a chain signal just before the first fork. That way trains pause in a space where they can decide to go left, middle or right. The general rule of signals is to place a chain signal to control every junction.
