[0.16.27]Train stops instantly when rail in path deconstruct

Post by HomoSapien »

It's not really that much of an issue when playing, just a minor thing I encountered.

So, when the train had already planned out a path and it making its way there, taking out a block of rail in that path will disrupt it and causing it to have the "No Path" error. However, it does not coast forward or brake then come to a stop as we expect it to. Instead, it just stopped instantly in its place. I don't know whether should it cost forward or should it put on the brakes, and it's for the devs to decide.

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, and the devs will have to decide, if they haven't done so already.

I guess if the trains don't instantly stop moving if they encounter an abrupt "No Path" error, it could cause a massive pileup.

I don't have any pictures at hand, but anyone can try it for themselves. Have a train plan a somewhat long route, and take out a rail on that route so the train has nowhere to go. The train should just stop in place, even if it's nowhere near the gap.

So it's a feature then? Thanks for clarifying.
