Crash when autosaving campaign

I've been having problems playing the factorio campaign. In the first level of First Steps, when it autosaves (usually after placing the stone furnace or the burner mining drill), the game crashes, with a dialogue box saying that an unexpected error occurred, and asking me if I would want to see the folder the log file was saved in. I closed the box and I was back to my desktop.

I expected the game to autosave before continuing the campaign... If I remember correctly, there is not much left in the level after placing the mining drill. Haven't played much of the campaign, so I decided to start again. Not sure what version it worked correctly in, as I only got back into factorio recently (in the last month or so).

Since I usually play with friends, I had a load of mods enabled. I disabled the mods, but it crashed at the same point again. Always crashed in nearly the same place. I'm not much of a computer geek, so I'm not sure how to fix it!

Note - factorio also crashes when exiting the campaign level by pressing "quit" in the game before it autosaves, or the same when leaving an online multiplayer server. Can obtain additional log files for these events if required, but the main thing I want to do is to play the campaign fully, as this is the main problem

Also, when clicking on the zipped autosave file, Windows says that it is invalid. When tried to extract, the extract wizard says that the zip file is empty.

Both logs are from 15.40, I'll move this to technical help, if you can produce the crash in the latest 0.16 post the log please.

I was being an idiot - Steam says that the newest version is 0.16.27, however, in the "about" of the factorio menus it is version 0.15.40.

Since factorio is on auto-update in my Steam, it doesn't seem like I'll be going to version 16 anytime soon...

Updated to version 16.22 (oldest experimental version available on steam), and I managed to complete the first level of First Steps with no crashes.

Looks like the problem was solved when updated to version 16
