[Dominik] [16.23] Weird Tree mining bug

Post by Ducky602 »

I have run in to a weird issue mining trees in the latest build. As seen in the screenshot, the clickable spot to mine the dead hairy tree isn't actually on said tree. I can also freely walk through the tree, though not through the mineable tile.

What detail are you playing at? Normal or high-res? Or you can just send the log file.

I already see it is low res. Just yesterday I was fixing this tree positioning for the high-res, and that was by far not so bad. So I already have a testing setup and fixed it quickly :)

I've seen this bug many times now. Does this mean that the 3 trees laying on top of my rocket silo will be fixed?

If they're that kind of tree, probably - I'm guessing they'll remain there until you remove them, though. I bet I'll get to keep the tree in my train tracks though :P .

Not, it is really just a matter of graphics - offset of the picture from the position. The selection box shows its true location. So after the fix they will draw where they should.
But apparently there are even more types of trees with this problem, so at this moment not all is fixed yet.

If you're speaking about my post, that had the correct collision/selection boxes, it was just drawn in the gap between rail curve bounding boxes - it's in won't fix. If you're talking about E-37's post, then they could be the same type of tree, or it could apply to other types as well.
