Hello everyone.
My friend bought factorio a couple days ago and since he installed it he gets this ominous "An operation was attempted on something that isnt a socket" Error when he tries to go into Multiplayer.
He is not running Lavasoft on his machine.
We tried it with the beta (0.16.x).
We tried over join via IP.
We asked on steam.
We asked on reddit.
We're now asking here in the hopes that someone can come up with a solution to this without us having to get a degree in IT first.
An operation was attempted on something that isnt a socket

Re: An operation was attempted on something that isnt a socket
Hello,
The underlying issue is still the same - WinSocks library or the TCP/IP stack are probably corrupted - even though Lavasoft was not the application that corrupted them.
So following command could help also.

It is general problem with the PC, you can also try to follow these steps: https://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c00287875As far as we currently know, running following command from administrator command line fixes the issue. Please note the command resets Winsock catalog to default value, which may cause some of your other applications stop working properly and you might need to reinstall those applications.Code: Select all
netsh winsock reset
