Make underground pipes only 1 tile longer, please :)

Please, make underground pipe 1 tile longer. It breaks my factory every so often.

Like I use 2-4-2-4-2-... bus design (like this: ..vvvv..vvvv..vvvv.. ), as many of us do. Because it's so convenient to use underground belts under 4-belt-bus.
And then I have to use underground pipe only 6-tile long ( .\vvvv/\vvvv/), because otherwise it comes out on the last belt of the (2)-(4)-(2)-(3+1) ( .\vvvv..vvv/.. )

Don't understand your problem.
Just come up with the pipe earlier.

Why the length of 11 has been chosen? Why not 10 or 12? Will some balance be broken if it will be one tile longer? Or maybe underground pipe should have the length od the underground belt?

I'd like to have it 12 tile-long. It would be really neat. It seems just convenient.

In fact can't see any problem for having recipes changed for belts and pipes to be two different lengths. Like the usual 6-tile und.belt and a loner one, 12-tiles long (let's suppose only red/blue, not the basic yellow und.belt). And same with the pipes - shorter for 6-tiles long (noone will want them, probably) and longer one (but 12-tiles long, not 11... or it might be 18!!! And why not?).

Sounds like you want Longer Underground Belt (Aligned) but for pipes.
You can look at how this mod does it and create a mod yourself or suggest this to the author (it sounds like a feature that would fit this mod quite well).

The new nuclear reactors make me really want this. Two of them are 10 tiles wide and there's no options to change their alignment so making underground pipe slightly longer is the only way.

Make pipe-to-ground skip 10 tiles instead of 9, for nuclear reactor purposes.

internally they are set to 10.

This has actually been requested MANY times, for several different reasons. The earliest being so that it matches alongside 2 UG-Belts (Which won't mean as much to newer players, since belt distance is different between tiers now)

For me, this falls in the "I don't see why not" category.

+1 I also feel that underpipes poorly combine with the common main bus designs. Best would be to make them have a maximum length of 12 between the two endpoints. That way they would nicely fit main busses with three spaces between belt quads too.

Made a small mod, that makes the skippable tiles of all tiers of underground pipes and belts configurable - whether they are vanilla or added by mods (like bob's logistics for example).

So now, everyone can have the preferred underneathie and underpipe lengths, he wants - without having to use a text editor.

For double nucular setups insert 10 into "Underground pipes - tier 1" and leave the other settings at -1.

Nuclear reactors have many challenges. Because of throughput losses for heat and liquids, and the volume of flowing liquids you have to put everything close together. Idk how to specify that, but, because of sizes and geometry, and the thing that you have to put everything close together almost every single reactor build looks somehow the same... Their core is like a sun, and their infrastructure is like lightbeams — it's heading from cores, and it's too straight... And it would be cool if you could weave steam or water pipes underneath two reactors. Additional block of length for underground pipe won't break or make too much easy anything, but it will allow for more variety for reactor builds.

i also agree because underground pipes teleport fluids and any fewer number of fluid boxes we have to use, the better.

I don't actually think that this change will do anything meaningful for tps, because if you are concerned for tps you should be doing things smart way, and just don't have unreasonably big pipe lines... And even if you do, the +1 increase to 11 won't do as much of reducing fluidboxes...
