[0.16.15] Connection Host Server Problem

Post by Sarek »

Hi all!

My Problem is that i cannot connect to a friends server and to some other servers. I connect to some open servers without a problem (like the factorio.one) but not if someone hosts a game.
If i want to host a game i get a "can't read external ip" error. I dont know if thats connected.

I reinstalled the game, updated windows updated the router and restarted the pc.
In the log file i censored the ip adresses but it seems an ip issue since the port change by one digit and its seems to cause the problems.

Code: Select all

59.910 Warning ServerRouter.cpp:471: Received own adddress message reply with conflicting address (got ***.**.**.***:34197, expected ***.**.**.***:34198)
59.910 Warning ServerMultiplayerManager.cpp:589: Determining own address has failed. Best guess: ***.**.**.***:34198

Since i'm a real noob concerning ip-adresses i really need help and would appriciate it.

Greetings

You are behind some sort of network address translation that isn't using consistent port numbers. Because it changes, factorio can't tell other players what ip-addr:port to connect to. Unless you have access to the router, or can otherwise arrange port forwarding, you won't be able host internet accessible games. (You should still be able to play as a client).
