Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
Hi
Can you add mod settings for changing the stack size instead of in the config file?

Hi. Like your mod, but it's playing havoc with factorio 0.16.7 .. every time i enable it, and have any type of armor (even vanilla) it screws up the train gui so that the automatic/manual slider disappears ... i've spent a good few hrs narrowing down the problem and traced it to this .... it may have some bearing on my other installed mods, but all of them are now enabled (except big bags) and i have armor installed and the train gui is fine ... any solution? cheers
Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
I think that bug with to many inventory slots has been fixed in 0.16.8. Traing GUI should work ok from that one - if it doesn't then another bug report might be needed.RiCoda wrote:Hi. Hello binbinhfr,
first off; thank you alot for your continuous quality work! Big Bags became quite the necessity after getting used to more and more mods and earlier marathon "playthroughs". It is very well appreciated!
I wanted to ask you, if, at any point in the future, there is a possibility that you might add an ingame option for the stack setting? This feature got picked up quite many mod authors and it is really awesome, for all the slobby, lazy and spoiled players! I guess it is a rather annoying hazzle to get it to work, so if that's the case, nevermind me bringing this topic up.
Despite this, is it possible to adjust one stack size for each and every item in the game, vanilla & modded? Sure, i checked post #3 on page 1, but still there remain stack-sizes not defined by big bags.
Anyway, i hope you keep up your spirit and excellent work. Thanks again and a happy new year (of playing factorio!)

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
yes, theoritically you could adjust the stack size of every item type of the game, but there are potentially hundredth of items, not counting items from mods, and it would be a big job and UI to adjust all this !
That's why i made a global formula in config.lua to adjust all these default stack sizes at once.
But maybe, I did not understand your question (i'm french, not native english...): do you want the same stack size for every items, which seems weird to me, as some items are inherently numerous, or others more sparse ?
edit : for info, i do not play factorio anymore, just doing the minimal work to make my existing mods work.

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
Oooooh, you're done with Factorio? Permanently if i may ask? That'd be a real shame.
Originally i thought of a general stack size of 2000. That surely sounds rather strange, since i mostly only carry ressources arround and barely crafted stuff. Surely a whacky playstyle. Anway, one' still can adjust stack sizes from specific items if they are too low/high.
Ah man, a really bummer if a good modder is no longer playing. Especially guys and gals from 1-2 years ago. Some preeeetty neat and cool stuff they thought out. Maybe they come back

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
in config.lua, you can set all stack size to 2000 :
my_stack_offset = 2000
my_stack_factor = 0
my_stack_offset = 2000
my_stack_factor = 0

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
Great mod but as i'm a little ocd , is there any way to fix the missing icon for worker cargo space in research window , could not figure it out myself? I made sure to disable all other mods to make sure it isn't a conflict.
EDIT , awesome Thank you!

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
Did 16.22 break this mod or do I have another issue. I updated my mods but when I jump in game I'm told my inventory is full, stack sizes are back to default and most of my inventory is on the ground
Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
Please check if mod didn't get disabled for some reason?
Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
The mods enabled. When I first load the save I have room in my inventory and the stacks sizes are what I'd expect with BigBags. The problem crops up a few seconds latter when a construction bot tries to off load to my inventory.
Edit - rolled back to 16.18 and the problem still exist. Updated back to 16.22 and disabled all of the mods except big bags and the problem went away. I'll play around and see if I can figure out which mod is the issue, but it doesn't look like its big bags

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
I like the mod so far. The only thing that bothers me is the config.lua ...
Would u mind implementing settings.lua? https://wiki.factorio.com/Tutorial:Mod_settings

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
I tried to write a tutorial for you, so you can implement the settings easily.
Create a lua-file and name it settings.lua and add this:
data:extend({
{
type = "int-setting",
name = "my_stack_factor",
setting_type = "startup",
default_value = 10,
minimum_value = 0,
maximum_value = 1000,
order = "a"
},
{
type = "int-setting",
name = "my_stack_offset",
setting_type = "startup",
default_value = 0,
minimum_value = 0,
maximum_value = 500000,
order = "b"
},
{
type = "int-setting",
name = "my_mag_factor",
setting_type = "startup",
default_value = 10,
minimum_value = 0,
maximum_value = 1000,
order = "c"
},
{
type = "int-setting",
name = "my_mag_offset",
setting_type = "startup",
default_value = 0,
minimum_value = 0,
maximum_value = 500000,
order = "d"
},
{
type = "int-setting",
name = "my_default_req_amount",
setting_type = "startup",
default_value = 10,
minimum_value = 0,
maximum_value = 10000,
order = "e"
},
{
type = "int-setting",
name = "my_running_speed_factor",
setting_type = "startup",
default_value = 1,
minimum_value = 0,
maximum_value = 1000,
order = "f"
}
})
Remove require("config") in data-final-fixes.lua and add at the beginning this:
local my_stack_factor = settings.startup['my_stack_factor'].value
local my_stack_offset = settings.startup['my_stack_offset'].value
local my_mag_factor = settings.startup['my_mag_factor'].value
local my_mag_offset = settings.startup['my_mag_offset'].value
local my_default_req_amount = settings.startup['my_default_req_amount'].value
local my_running_speed_factor = settings.startup['my_running_speed_factor'].value
Remove require("config") in data.lua and control.lua and remove the file config.lua
add to the locales this and add the adapted plaintext (e.g. for English):
[mod-setting-name]
my_stack_factor=Stack Factor
my_stack_offset=Stack Offset
my_mag_factor=Magazine Factor
my_mag_offset=Magazine Offset

Re: [MOD 0.13] Big Bags - more space in your bags
I have changed the stack ratio before update
But after update, the setting get it to default, and now i cannot change it anymore
Do you have an idea for changing it ?

You can change the stack size via the ingame setting.
