Unable to hook Artillery Cannon to circuit network

Hello,

I was expecting to be able to hook a Artillery Cannon to a circuit network. e.g. use a Red Wire to connect a chest, inserter, and cannon together. Then add a condition to only activqte the inserter if the cannon has less than X ammo in it.

Is that supposed to work? Or is the Artillery Cannon intentionally not available to circuit networks? (Or perhaps I'm mistaken and/or doing it wrong.)

Artillery turrets like gun and laser turrets don't support circuit connection.
You have to use mods like Inventory sensor to read their inventory.
