The Steam Awards 2017 [Factorio is Nominated!]

But I dont get why csgo & dota are on this list Oo the other games could make sense aswell @ haunting dreams; but csgo? and dota?

Well keep in mind the nominations are based on votes by Steam users so if a decent enough population of the Steam user base feels it haunts their dreams then it will be nominated. I can understand Dota 2 actually, there's a lot of strategy and metagame built up around it so yeah I can imagine some people do spend a lot of time obsessing over those aspects of it. I'm less clear on CS:GO though.

As for TF2 yeah I can see that for consoles, but keep in mind it's the Steam Awards so you're dealing with PC players. I strongly considered putting TF2 for the Labor of Love award (although I think I went with Thea in the end) because it's a PC game that still receives updates after a decade.

The Steam winter sale is going on, and they're also running the Steam Awards. Factorio is up as one of the 5 candidates for the "Haunts My Dreams" award!

I really love Factorio as you all guys do, but let's be honest: Factorio is not the winner in that case. It stands along with the most popular games in steam: "DotA 2" and "CS:GO". Each games' community is at least 20 times larger than Factorio's one, so there will be many times more votes for those 2 games than for Factorio. Still, i will vote for Factorio because who knows, maybe some miracle will happen. Just making this post so you won't put too much hope in winning, because likely, this game is not gonna win in this competition. Anyway, this game is amazing no matter if it gets awards or not. Developers and community of this game is really good and i hope it will stay this way for really long time.
