[0.16.6] Cannot save in "New hope" level 02 campaign

After receiving the next objective after researching Automated rail transportation in the "New hope" level 02 campaign it's not possible to save anymore, every time I try to save or when autosave tries to save a Notice message box shows up saying:

LuaCustomTable cannot be serialized.

Notice that saving works after completing the research and objective, but it won't work after the new objective pops up on the screen.

I don't have any mods installed.
I tried again by loading from a previous autosave and restarting the game and the issue is still there.

I have attached the log and a save created a few seconds before the objective is completed.

Came across the same issue.
For those looking for quick fix:
- download new hope 2 fixed save game;
- extract contents;
- copy controls.lua;
- open your last save file;
- paste within controls.lua from fixed version;
- zip back the save file;
= enjoy finishing up your scenario;
