MP Game crashes when loading 16.4 map or it's autosaves

Have been playing this map for 12 hours with my brother, no mods, he was dropped from the game and upon trying to get back in he got the game crash message. I saved and left the game to reload it and I then got the same message. All 3 of the auto saves from that session crash as well. I can load up other maps like my 16.4 single player and that appears fine. Restarted my computer and same result. My system is beefy (12core/24thread 3.46ghz, 48MB ram, GTX 1080, SSDs) Played Factorio for 842 hours, never had a bad crash like this.
