Turrets on Walls & Modular Turrets.

Turrets on Walls
--First one is simple, the ability to place turrets not only on the ground, but on top of walls as well. Should the wall they are on be destroyed, the turret is too.
--Small Biters would not be able to reach the turrets and would attack the wall first.
--Medium Biters could just barely reach the bottom of the turrets, so would deal reduced damage against them, or they could just attack the wall for normal damage.
--Big Biters could easily reach the turrets and could attack them or the walls they are on top of.

Modular Turrets
--Make turrets kind of like the flying robot frames, you build a turret frame, then give it a gun and ammo.
--Pistol Turret = Pistol + Bullets / Piercing Bullets
--SMG Turret = SMG + Bullets / Piercing Bullets
--Shotgun Turret = Shotgun / Assault Shotgun + Shotgun Shells / Piercing Shotgun Shells
--Flamethrower Turret = Flamethrower + Gas Cans
--Rocket Launcher Turret = Rocket Launcher + Rockets
--Laser Turret = Laser Gun + Battery Packs

What would be the advantage of wall mounted turrets over regular turrets? People would still cover them with walls like they do with regular turrets to protect them. :P

True, but then you wouldn't have to choose between walls or turrets. And turrets would get a bit of a defense boost since not every biter could go straight at them if they are placed on walls.

i tested a rocket turret and if i cant find a way to decrease the damage and/or attackspeed it looks like overpowerd

So you made a mod to test my idea then? Or something else?

The general thought though was that any turret would only fire as fast as the gun it has equiped. Having a rocket launching turret fire as fast as a vanilla turret would indeed be OverPowered.

i dont have a mod for a modular turret, just tested the rl turret and my rocketturet does 60+48 damage with firerate 1 (normal rocket)

laserturret 5+6 damage firerate 3+2 (normal rounds)
mg turret 2+7 firerate 10

rl turret? I'm confused. Vanilla Factorio doesn't have a rocket shooting turret. Id assume that there's a mod that does this, but I don't know which one. Could you explain where you're getting this rocket shooting turret from?

errr self created mod

dont know is this the right english translation i make a mod with a mg turret that use rockets and not bullets, it works and looks cool, but i adjust the settings of the turret to balance it but its still overpowerd and with explosive rockets you can kill yourself (ok thats the part i like :) )

maybe i calculate wrong but it seems a mg turret fires 10 times faster then my rl turret

try to calculate damage (rate of fire * damage) with full research

rl-turret 1 * (60+48) = 108 (nomal rockets)
rl-turret 1 * (40+32) = 72 (explosive rockets)
mg turret 10 * (2+7) = 90 (normal rounds)
mg turret 10 * (5+19) = 240 (pircing rounds)
lasert turret (3+2) * (5+6) = 55

it dont looks like overpowerd if i calculate this right
it seems the rl turrets are in the middle of mg turrets with a high range (laer-turret have 25 mg-turret 22), maybe 30 or 35 it looks balanced :)

now the hp of enemies:

smal-biter: 15hp
medium-biter: 75hp
big-biter: 375hp

smal-worm: 200hp
medium-worm: 350hp
big-worm: 500hp

biter-spawner: 350hp
player: 100hp
