I searched the bug section for a while but did not find this minor issue.
While playing I found coal on my copper plate belt:
After a bit of messing around I found out you could insert items sideways into an underground belt. The items will move through the side wall of the underground going belt, which is unexpected.
Great game, keep up the good work!
[15.37] Items sideways in underground belt
Re: [15.37] Items sideways in underground belt
Thanks for the report but that's a fully intended game mechanic and not a bug.JKoehorst wrote:After a bit of messing around I found out you could insert items sideways into an underground belt. The items will move through the side wall of the underground going belt, which is unexpected.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

People use this for tons of cool stuff. It's intended and taking it out would break entire factories.
There are 10 types of people: those who get this joke and those who don't.
Re: [15.37] Items sideways in underground belt
Though it might be worth changing the graphics to make it cleared that this behaviour is intended. eg if the hood only covered the half of the tile it would be more obvious that you could side load one lane onto an underground belt. The image in the first post makes it appear that the hood blocks sideloading onto the entire tile.

welcome to the forums!
you can witness the devs using a express underground belt to pull iron from a iron/gears belt in the Factorio trailer.
