[15.37] Crash when i try to start the game

Every time i try to launch the game from steam "Factorio.exe stopped working" shows up.
I've tried unistalling it, removing my mods and turning off the antivirus but nothing worked.

Your machine does not meet the minimal requirements to run this game, the log file is 4 days old and does not show a crash but shows you playing for over 3 hours before closing the game.
Upload a log file with crash for further help, do NOT post it as comment, upload the complete file instead.

Could you please download procdump.zip and follow instructions I posted here: viewtopic.php?t=51375#p299745 to get crash dump at the moment of crash and post it here?

I've been playing this game for months, there's no way that's the case. Also the game opens just fine in my much worse laptop.

That is just a statement of facts, the machine producing your log does not meet the minimum requirements. It does not mean your problem has to originate from it.

Thanks for the crash dump.

Factorio is trying to load steam_api64.dll at path C:\Windows\steam_api64.dll, instead of version that is distributed with the game. This DLL version mismatch is what causes it to crash. There shouldn't be steam_api64.dll in your Windows folder.
Also the executable was launched from path C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\Temp\Rar$EX29.924\factorio.exe and not from Steam Library.

I erased steam_api64.dll from the Windows folder, but the game still doesn't work.

Thanks. The crash seems to be the same, but steam_api64.dll version is now correct, so I was wrong about it causing crash. (I tried to put wrong version into my Factorio folder in Steam and Factorio didn't launch - but it didn't crash either, so I considered it as proof it could possibly crash because of the wrong version of the DLL)
I don't see anything obviously wrong in the new crash dump (besides the crash itself - which is in exe initialization, before any of our code starts executing). I'll investigate more tomorrow. Can you try to disable Steam Overlay and run the game?

So i tried reinstalling again and now the game doesn't run, but doesn't crash either( like posila just said)

Not really :/, because I broke it on my computer by replacing the DLL and fixed it by putting correct version back. But in the last crash dump you posted, the correct DLL was loaded

Have you installed something between last time it worked and the time you found out it is crashing?
Also silly question - have you tried to reboot your computer?

So reinstalling Steam fixed the problem. No idea why, but it did.
