Black screen on program start [solved]

Hi there folks

I have already solved this issue, but I'm posting so that others can make use of it.

After upgrading to the latest release I was getting a black screen on startup. The system was still showing normal signs of life, and background applications were by appearances doing their usual thing.

The problem was that the new .exe was not recognised by Comodo, which was trying to show a request popup. This is a common issue when starting new games, but normally I get around the issue by using the keyboard shortcuts to allow - but for some reason this wasn't registering, leading me to think it was a crash. A few troubleshooting steps later and I thought I'd better check the comodo log - there it is, a program listed as "untrusted" in the list (not in logs, but in 'unrecognised files' so easy to overlook).

So, check comodo if you're using it and getting black screen startups.

If devs are reading this, possibly start with a brief pause before blanking the screen, for this kind of situation?
