High visibility programmable speaker alert pictograms

Post by Helveg »

TL;DR
Ability to set a category name and pictogram to cluster programmable speaker alerts of the same type.
What
Users would be able to set an additional category name and pictogram to cluster messages akin to how the game already does for some messages like damaged and destroyed units and other combat events, it could replace the general title "Alerts" that is shown when you hover over alert boxes at the bottom of your HUD. For example when the game gives a shortage of logistic network storage alert users could group their custom alerts together with the one the game is throwing if they set it to the same category, like "Logistic Network".
Why
User defined categories would add more depth and purpose to the programmable speakers. Categories like "Urgent", "Warnings", "Railways", "Nuclear", "Assembly", are just a few categories I would create and use.

What
When picking a pictogram for the programmable speaker an extra tab with the larger pictograms that the game uses, like the exclamation mark in the yellow triangle, red triangle and storage chest and so forth would be useful.
Why
The pictograms we have are tiny and items don't serve as pictograms that well. I can't express urgency or danger in iron ore or fish :P

Merged with previous topic (but kept the title), since they are about the same idea.
