Resolution scaling (not UI scaling)

Hey guys,

I recently bought Factorio and encountered a problem.
I can play the game as it is supposed to work, if i download it from the Factorio website and use it, without using Steam.
But as soon as I download the game via Steam and start it, I get a problem, which I guess has something to do with scaling at different resolutions.

The game starts, and the "game window" (fullscreen or windowed mode doesnt matter) opens up, but inside the "game window", the actual visual part of the game is only in the top left quarter of the screen. The rest of it is black.
It has to be a graphical issue, because if I move my mouse around inside the window and over the black parts, the menu buttons get highlighted, if I hover over the spot, where the menu button is supposed to be.

I am using a 27 inch 1440p Monitor from asus and a GTX 1070.

Can anyone solve this problem?

This may be a long shot, but maybe try with "--force-d3d" or else "--force-opengl"? see: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=51614&p=301218#p301218

Does it also happen if you disable Steam overlay for Factorio? Open Factorio properties in Steam Library and un-tick "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game".

Assuming you use Windows, log file is located in %APPDATA%\Factorio\factorio-current.log (when posting on the forum click on "Upload attachment" -> Select file and paste "%APPDATA%\Factorio\factorio-current.log" into the open file dialog)
