This is an early/mid game setup (no beacons or modules).

5 refineries, and 8 chemical plants and 3 medium electric poles in a neat 25x16 tile package. Super easy to extend to any direction or add tanks to the side. Probably the most convenient design feature is that you can pull gas from anywhere.

The design uses 1 additional underground pipe to fully connect all light oil together for smoother production as well as using just 3 electric poles. In my tests, leaving the light distilled from heavy disconnected from other light oil led to brief pauses in production.

I couldn't find this anywhere else and I spent some time figuring it out, so ... enjoy.

Since Hribek hasn't found the time to post the blueprint for this, I figured I'd give him a hand. This one is without the concrete tiling around it though.

I prefer using heavy oil for lubricant and light oil with circuit network to decide whether to make solid fuel or cracking it to petroleum gas.

I'm pretty sure this isn't meant to be an end all be all solution. I usually have a refinery dedicated to flamer fuel and one for lubrication and then either crack to petroleum or solid fuel. However - when you need a petroleum gas setup, it's really difficult to beat Hribek's solution without using beacons, and I don't think you'll find anything that stacks as nicely as this one does. In fact you can even pipe out heavy and light oils if you really wanted to, but you'd be better off setting up dedicated refineries for it.

I found this a few weeks ago. It has turned out to be a nice design. I shall certainly keeping it as a standard design.

The string doesnt work. Do I need a mod for that? Why do you use a mod? Please use vanilla blueprint-strings instead.

aren't the ratios different now in 0.15? maybe hribek will grace us with a second post? :P

Damnit you're right! I just spend half an hour rebuilding this :(

EDIT: OK, I fumbled it into some sort of OK...

The Original Post is certainly one certifiable spaghetti monster on its own.

Also When i Checked the wiki, it says the ratio's are different. Heres a direct screenshot i got from the factorio wiki page (1:1:1)? Is that ratio correct though?

0.15 'perfect' ratio is 25:3:21 (refinery:heavy to light:light to petrol)
close enough is 8:1:7
with productivity lvl 3 in everything and lvl 3 speed beacons (each building seeing 1 beacon)
it changes slightly to 8:2:9

of course you need to set limits to not over crack the light & heavy if you want flamer fuel and lube.

If you add a one block spacer between the refineries and the chemical plants, you can easily pump'n'circuit a set of H/L storage tanks. I'd keep some extra Light oil around to pump into my flamethrower turrets.

Just to confirm this is outdated, I edited the title to reflect that. I'll post a new topic later. I have a new setup that is beacon ready and prioritizes solid fuel & lubricant over cracking, still circuit free.
