0.15.31 Linux - Resize on load...

Post by wormmus »

OS: Antegros/Arch Based, Deepin Desktop, nVidia 660 GTX

Sometimes does not allow interaction with buttons on start screen until window is unresized. Also cannot interact with other programs or X Server until window is "unmaximized".

Update:
Reproduced issue. It happens after a mod setting change, the client restarts, the user maximizes the game while loading bar is shown. No X interaction is available until the window is "unmaximized".

It's funny... I can't even reproduce it now... I even recorded it happening, and did the same thing I did last night... And nothing...but there is proof it happened so you can't admit me to the loony bin yet. If I come across it again, I will post a log.

NOTE: The zip file should actually be 1.8.0, not just 1.8. An issue when Zipping on Linux, removes the third version subset. Just rename the zip to wormmus-config_1.8.0

So, I was able to re-produce the bug...BUT...it's now not doing it again upon trying to reproduce it another time. This thing is pesky...because it doesn't happen all the time.

I did manage to snag the log from the time of the bug happening, but the output looks normal. It also won't let me attach the log, so here's the pastebin for it.
https://pastebin.com/tH2uTxBw
The log is the exact same as a normal log, just different timestamps.

I have included the zip file that I reproduced the bug with.
When you change from Default to, in my case, 10x, then apply it and re-launch, then maximize while the loading bar is going, it would prevent you from being able to interact with anything other than the title bar for Factorio.

The only thing I can say that I see would even be an issue, which I don't understand why it would be, because it shouldn't be,
is that the if-statements.lua contains a line defining "Default". The code in the fuel-values.lua file is set to load if Default ~= "Enabled", so the code wouldn't even run if it was set as default.

When I went and commented out the line in the if-statements to define Default, the bug was then Unreproduceable, even after uncommenting the line.

I hope this helps, but I doubt it does.

I can't really reproduce this even with your mod installed. Can you reproduce this with a different WM, to rule out a WM bug? Also, when exactly during loading do you maximise the window? I'm thinking this might be somehow timing-dependent and the inclusion of a mod simply allows you to maximise a window at exactly the right time. If I know what time to aim for, maybe I'll be able to reproduce it.

I was unable to reproduce this issue with Gnome which is the default DE that comes with Antegros. Gnome was ticking me off tonight. They also had updates since I posted and it included Linux and nVidia updates. Going to call this a non issue now.
