Add more exploration! Relics, dungeons, unique drop...

A long time ago before biters another civ lived on the same planet. Who knows what happened to them, may be some virus transformed them into biters. Imagine yourself exploring map and seeing a dungeon entrance. You go inside and kill worms while trying to avoid relic traps. The deeper you go the more advanced technological defenses you encounter, relic turrets, may be even a robotic boss guarding stuff. For reward you should receive items with unique alien mechanic, may be super alien gun or anti-gravitational thing! Also the relic technology you encounter (like traps, turrets, guards) may be possible to recover and replicate.

Generate dungeons procedurally and place on map far from starting point. It will greatly increase the motivation to explore.

As you touch a lot of dungeons they should send an alarm and their automatic UFO force will come to check things. The timer of their arrival should be displayed and you will have to prepare your defenses. They are a "next stage" when you are not afraid of biters anymore. As they arrive they begin to construct their own automatic bases and attack you. If your base doesn't have a force field shield they may shoot your buildings from the sky. And their pollution will make biters super-angry so they evolve even more.

Would be great to have it in game. Though biters evolve they are everywhere the same. The resources are the same too, you have no motivation to search for something unique through a map - it's just boring.

This idea of the UFOs come and check what's happening would be fantastic .. ;)
The Creepers of the old version of the game could have evolved and abandoned the planet by leaving their bases to live elsewhere, and later by a call (that alarm from the dungeons you mentioned) is called again to the planet!
This idea of the anti-gravity weapon I can not think of a thing .. the energy shield you can imagine, though .. would be a circular shaped shield? With the possibility of being expanded by means of extra towers with this power?

Sounds fantastic!!! You should come up with more loot though. Maybe you could choose between searching dungeons for loot and Relic Science Packs (used to research Relic-related tech) or using messier, dirtier, but extremely effect tech. Everything the Creepers would hate. (https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-69). Come up with more loot though
