compact expandable train waiting area

Post by Nexarius »

I've made a waiting area for trains that's probably the most compact ever and you can easily place it on a straight track.
This allows 18 trains(1-4-1) to wait.

If you need more you can expand it as long as you want.

Of course I come across this right after building my 1-4-1 stacker :). I think this is probably the most compact possible stacker. I'll keep this design in mind for future use, and possibly even replace my old one.

I like it! Every time you don't think there's any more wiggle room for improvement, something like this comes along :D

Excellent design! Very smart to combine the compact diagonal signals with an ultra-compact horizontal/vertical waiting area!

I was inspired to create this "inline" stacker: (which is less elegant because not all bays are the same size, and it is not expandable within the same vertical distance, but takes less space to the sides when inlining in an existing rail line)
