No Water Sign for Boilers and No Steam for Steam Engines
Judging by the replies I've seen around here, the way boilers, heat exchangers, and steam engines/turbines work is somewhat confusing for people. To help combat this, I propose that boilers have a No Water sign similar to their Out of Fuel sign when they don't have water, a No Steam sign for steam engines and steam turbines, and a No Heat sign for heat exchangers. These would also help players troubleshoot more complex designs.

Yay, a good idea for once.

I would add a "Steam too cold" and a "Steam too hot" sign, so that you can mix it with hotter/colder steam. And a "low pressure" sign. And "Steam is flowing backwards". (*)
.... And a "brain"-sign for "player should think is part of the game".
(*) And to make that clear: This is an ironic comment.

One part of the problem is that you can't see the flow in pipes. (or at least I can't figure it out)
You can visually sew the different between a full that is working and moving and a full belt that is stopped.

You can add a tank and with circuits if level of tank is low you can set an alarm.

The OP is not an unreasonable request.

This would be an awesome idea.
It's a pain in the neck to figure out what boilers/heat exchangers etc are running vs not because the values are not representative of anything that actually matters.
