Sometimes construction robots from a personal roboport cannot reach the player if the player is standing on a transport belt line, even when the robots maximum speed is greater than the players' velocity. See link below:

Note that most of the bots return as expected.
I've tested this with Worker Robot Speed 4 and 7 on yellow, red and blue belts. Similar results on all tests. No mods. Roboports had more than enough electricity in all tests.
To reproduce this bug:
- Research Worker Robot Speed 4 or 7 (most likely works with any research level, but I've only tested on these two)
- Equip personal roboport(s) and some construction robots
- Build a straight line of either yellow, red or blue belts
- Stand on the belt line and send the bots out to do something (place ghosts or damage stuff for them to repair)
Edit: Just tested in a decelerating car - https://gfycat.com/EvilThornyDeinonychus - Similar results.

That's working as intended. You have to wait for them to catch up.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

This case looks like something else though, it seems the bots target the wrong position when trying to get back to the player, even when he is no longer moving (as seen in the first gif).Rseding91 wrote:That's working as intended. You have to wait for them to catch up.

No that's also working as intended. The robots charge in a ring around the player and the ring at the lower end of the player while moving puts them outside the player range. You have to hold still and allow them to charge.Loewchen wrote:This case looks like something else though, it seems the bots target the wrong position when trying to get back to the player, even when he is no longer moving (as seen in the first gif).Rseding91 wrote:That's working as intended. Re: [15.18] Construction bots sometimes can't return to the player
I think you should re-watch the first gif I posted. I am moving at a slower speed than they can fly and I even run towards them at the end of the gif, which still doesn't let them catch up. If I weren't standing on the belt and was instead just running in a straight line, they would catch up and charge just fine.Rseding91 wrote:No that's also working as intended. So all roboport recharge spots work fine while running, but two of them sometimes don't work while standing on a belt, causing the bots to rapidly jitter back and forth? If this is intentionally designed this way and thus considered a feature, could someone please explain the reasoning behind this?

Ah I see.Rseding91 wrote: The robots charge in a ring around the player and the ring at the lower end of the player while moving puts them outside the player range. You have to hold still and allow them to charge.
