Factorio Headless Config.ini problems

So I am trying to turn on the experimental updates on my headless server.
I go into the config.ini ( in the user folder of the user who is running the server ) and change the option for experimental updates to true.
But every time I launch the server process it overwrites the file with false. I even tried changing the permissions to 600 and it still gets overwritten.
The user who is running the factorio process does not have root access so this is very strange and I am not quite sure why it's being overwritten.
I have seen similar stuff when an update comes out and the config gets reset, but this is every time I start the server process. Not just when I update it.
Here is a quick video showing how every time I launch the server the file gets overwritten.
You can actually see it. My question is why this is happening. Any information would be greatly appreciated. :D HERE IS THE VIDEO

All configuration settings are commented out by default (the ; semicolon before the enable-experimental-updates line), if you remove the semicolon after changing the value to true then it will stay that way.

Factorio always writes a new config file after it restarts, so if you leave the semicolon where it is (as shown in the video) then Factorio will go back to the default setting and change the config file accordingly.

Awesome! That makes sense. I wish it said that somewhere in the config file. Thanks for the quick reply!

I have another small question, not about the server, but the client.

When I run the client, the audio is disabled. I searched and it seems the others having this issue are having issues with ALSA, but mine is configured properly. My issue is not with ALSA, and my logs are a little different. It appears that my client is trying to use OSS for sound output instead of ALSA. Is there a config somewhere to change this to ALSA?

Check the entry for "No sound or delayed sound on Linux" in viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3636, this is for forcing OSS but you can probably change it to force ALSA.

I tried that with no luck. I set it to
[audio]
driver=alsa
also tried all caps, ALSA and pulseaudio. Nothing. They all give slightly different errors. But they all fail.
