there are mods for that if you really cannot live without them

Bob's Inserters is still current, not sure if he's updated for 0.15 yet but he's working on it along with all his other mods. Allows extremely heavy customisation of Inserters.

It's updated for 0.15. I'm in the middle of a Bob's mod play right now.

A massive part of the game is graduation from the base game to using mods.
