I just see a small amount spitters attacking tree near my base, i don't know if it's normal.

I think it is normal. I've seen this in earlier versions too.
What I think happens is that the path finding decides that the tree is in the way, as in it doesn't find a good path around that tree. The tree therefore becomes an obstacle that needs to be eliminated on the way to the enemy. Just like bitters attack walls if they can't reach a turret.

From a screenshot all I can tell you is that yes, sometimes it's normal. I would need a save where it happens for any actual debugging.

I can confirm this is happening in 0.17.79. In the example described above, the biters had a mostly clear path to base, as this was happening in a desert. No trees were involved. Image if it helps any:

A save file (more data) would be needed as per their comment to actually look into the issue.
The biters attack entities in their way if they have no other way to path around them,
Sometimes with big groups, they have some false-positives when getting jostled around by their pals,
But its not really a bug, and we're not going to fix it
