When removing rails, you can always remove curved rails, but straight rails can be covered by the curved rails, preventing easy removal.
I would suggest that straight rails always get removed before curved rails when mining them.

Re: Mine Straight Rails before Curved Rails
I have never had a problem removing either rails type - sure, curved rails are easier to hit with a mouse, but straight rails can be found quite easily as well.
And situations when I have to mine curved rails that share space with straight diagonals are just as common.
Overall I'm not sure there's an ideal solution here - either way some rails will be in the way.

Re: Mine Straight Rails before Curved Rails
I agree, the curved sections being longer you can go to the other end or somewhere in the middle but removing that 1 extra rail that's right under the ends of the curve can be a pixel hunt at times didn't think about it but beautiful QoL idea

Re: Mine Straight Rails before Curved Rails
I can easily agree that trying to mine a straight rail does usually end up pulling up the curve. And since 0.13, it is a lot harder to place curved rails, due to having to use the rail planner.
