Game Loses My Saves?

So sometimes when I load up Factorio and try to play my saved games I get a message saying that it failed to open the file location of my save. This is he second time its happened, the first time it happened I tried to fix it my self and i lost my save entirely . So I started a new game and have put a few hours into it, and it happened again. This time I new better then to try and fix it myself and have come for help. A screenshot of the notice it gives me when try and play my saved games is attached.

We can't you with that... Post the save here, so that we can look, if the save is corrupt or something else.

I'm sorry. Your file is not a zipfile or anything else, it just contains zeros.

Indeed, it's empty with no data whatsoever.

It's strange that it's so large though, the size you'd expect from a savefile.

Well that's really odd, any clue on what might be causing this or how I can avoid this in the future?

Well. Whatever you do: before you try to "repair" something on the files make a backup before.

Let me see if I'm even sending the file correctly, or if the save is actually broken.
Here is a save that I know works. If it doesn't contain any info then I might not be sending the file correctly.

That's just fine. You can test it yourself by unzipping it.

Ok, Thanks for your help! I'll just remember that after every play session that I need to make a backup of my world.

In theory, the game might be failing to save your world properly, writing only zeroes. So, after a play session, perhaps you should try to open the savegame zip before you quit the game and save again if it wrote a bad savegame... It's quite a hassle, but I have no idea what's breaking your savegames, so I don't have any better advice than that.

Oh, ok that sounds like it might be the problem, I will defiantly check and see if it saves my game properly. Thanks!
