Factorio won't open "how-screen-selector failed

I'm playing on a mac and since a few days back I haven't been able to start up Factorio. Whenever i try it just pops up a box saying "Error File /users/(my computer name)/library/application support/factorio/saves/how-screen-selector does no exist" with an ok option.
I'm playing on a mac and via steam.

I've tried going back to versions where it worked but it didn't help, it just made a slightly different box appear.

Please post your log file (should be factorio-current.log in ~/Library/Application Support/factorio) and a screenshot of the error.
