I tried to take some items from a chest using left click + ctrl, couldn't get it all because my inventory got full, then it just dropped on the ground like an item moved from a inserter

Can you reproduce this?
Re: [15.10] Chest dropped in the ground after taking items
He was probably crafting the chest at the same time as well.

0.15.0 changelog wrote:Crafting is now paused when the results can't be given to the player instead of spilling them on the ground.
Re: [15.10] Chest dropped in the ground after taking items
I wasn't, I was far(about 15 tiles) from the chest when it dropped. I'm also using long reach mod, don't know if this is relevant.kovarex wrote:He was probably crafting the chest at the same time as well.
I can't, sorry.Loewchen wrote:Can you reproduce this?

Ill move it to magic then, if you find out how to produce it, let us know.Arclacke wrote:I can't, sorry.Loewchen wrote:Can you reproduce this?
Re: [15.10] Chest dropped in the ground after taking items
This happens if you accidentally dig the chest, and the contents of the chest is juuust enough to fill your inventory, but leaves no room for the chest itself.
To reproduce: Fill your inventory minus one slot, put something in a wooden chest that will fill that last slot, then dig the chest. Item will go to inventory, chest will go to ground. My guesstimate is that reach mod glitched somehow and thought you were picking up the chest itself, or you simply misclicked.

Re: [15.10] Chest dropped in the ground after taking items
I never noticed it until now, but mining an entity with your inventory and quickbar full always drops it to the ground, no matter the entity. Since 0.15 implemented pausing the crafting when the inventory is full is this behavior still intended? It could just print the "Cannot insert xxx. Player's inventory full." message (after trying to mine it and the bar finished) and keep the entity where it is instead of spilling it to the ground.Aeternus wrote:This happens if you accidentally dig the chest, and the contents of the chest is juuust enough to fill your inventory, but leaves no room for the chest itself.

Re: [15.10] Chest dropped in the ground after taking items
The action of mining an entity can't be un-done as it effects the state of the entity and the game doesn't know if it can insert the result items from mining the entity until after it has done so.
That means that when you mine an empty entity either the items go into your inventory or get dropped on the ground.
