Steam Cloud Save not synchronizing between different OSs

I've been having an issue with Steam Cloud Saving.

I play Factorio on two platforms, one Windows, one Mac. When I play on Windows, steam cloud saving works correctly (if I let it sync and then start up Factorio on my mac, the saves are there correctly). When I play on Mac, the autosaves are synced to the cloud but the actual save is not. This is a consistent problem that I have been experiencing since at least 0.13.

I have attached two images, taken from each system within minutes of each other. The last platform I played on was on mac. In the mac screenshot the last modified timestamp for the "0.15 First" save is more recent than the autosaves, and in the Windows screenshot the last modified time is just the last time I played (and saved) on that computer.

I contacted steam support about this issue but their response was to bring it to you. I've been doing the manual workaround of copying the game save to dropbox after playing on my mac, and then manually copying it into the save directory on Windows.

The only way this can be an issue with Factorio, I believe, is if the cloud configuration is incorrect. I believe Factorio syncs the directory, versus manually syncing each file. I'll go check the configuration...

EDIT: It looks correct to me. Anyone happen to know any sort of way to check the cloud's contents directly, so we can tell if the failure is to upload or to download?

This is a known problem with steam and its handling of files. We simply tell steam to sync everything in the folder and it handles the rest. You may be able to contact them about getting it resolved.

If you remove or replace the dot in your save file name it will correctly sync it.

Ok, that's totally doable! Thank you for the information, I believe we can close this bug report since it would be duplicate!
