[SOLVED][0.15.9] Headless install won't load 0.15.9 save

Hey guys!

I just installed 0.15.9 headless on my server running debian 8. I followed othyns factorio headless guide on github and changed the url to the corresponding 0.15.9 download url. It took me about 2 hours to get the server up and running, but now I am stuck on loading a 0.15.9 savegame from my desktop.
When I try to start the server it shows the following error message: "Map version 0.15.9-0 cannot be loaded because it's higher than the game version" (screenshot attached)
It states that version 0.14.23 is installed, although I installed 0.15.9 If I manually generate a map it works flawlessly.
Any idea why it won't run?

You did indeed install 0.14.23, download the 0.15 headless from here:
https://www.factorio.com/download-headless/experimental

You might have downloaded the wrong one by mistake, 0.14.23 is the default one and you have to click the experimental link on the website before you get to the 0.15 headless donwload.

I tried installing the version from the link you provided multiple times, but it still states that the installed version is 0.14.23. I also wiped the /opt/factorio folder before reinstalling.
Is there anything I could have overlooked when wiping the installation folders?

Update: I managed to get the server running after some more hours of tinkering with it. It seems like it had something to do with the downloaded file. After several attempts I got an error message saying that the file is corrupted an can't be unpacked. So I looked at the extension of the downloaded file and it said tar.xz instead of tar.gz as before.
I extracted the file, copied the savegame to the corresponding folder and suddenly it worked!
