Running 0.15.5 from the 0.15.x Steam beta branch on macOS.
Start up game from Steam with no launch options, game loads fine until cropping bitmaps, keeps cropping bitmaps until 39%, hangs for a second, crash dialog box appears prompting me to submit a bug, game window stays open and frozen until force closed. Trying various combinations of graphics launch arguments from the graphics troubleshooting thread does not fix issue. Appears to be similar or related to viewtopic.php?f=7&t=45872&p=263652 on macOS and viewtopic.php?f=7&t=45772&p=263175 on Linux, although stack traces are slightly different.

You don't have enough VRAM to use the "high" quality option. Turn it down to "normal" or "low" and it should load.
