[.15.4] Running 2x factorio copies PC unusable - usedtawork

Post by Nexela »

Used the 64 bit zip file

Installed into 2 separate locations.

Started each with the executable in BIN

When the second one gets to loading sprites a noticable lag comes up and then returns to normal. (this part might be normal however restarting the second copy after closing it will slowdown the PC at this stage until killed)

Open/create a world on both Doesn't even have to be MP. Computer gets really slow Factorio even slower showing fps/ups around 5/13 ish but actually running a lot slower. CPU and Memory usage normal.

Close one copy of Factorio PC returns to normal

As far as I am aware there were no setting/software/driver changes since .15.2 or .3 (can't remember which one I last did an MP test in)

Updating to latest Nvida drivers didn't change anything

[Edit] More details added:, Made sure steam and geforce sharing were disabled still had issues

Hi, don't run both instances of the game on high graphics quality.
They defaulted to the high sprite quality, because they detected you have good PC, but the detection doesn't account for possibility you could try to run multiple instances :)

Thanks That was actually on my list of things to check then I got sidetracked :)

Confirmed to working with High/high_usage on 1 and Normal/med_usuage 2

Thanks again! And I should have checked it.
