Start game with grenades?

One of the early game frustrations is spawning in or near a forest I need to clear.

This would be solved by spawning with something like 10-50 grenades. Even better if the grenade explosions would leave some wood on the ground to be picked up.

Also maybe exploding a grenade on a coal field could puff up some coal I could just gather by pressing and holding f. Not critical as you generally only need to dig one piece but I thought it would be fun to have some explosions instead

Moved to balancing. The grenades are not needed if you carefully expand instead.

Not all of the current starting items are necessary either.

Im not saying you should start with a tank, rocket and a satellite but having some explosives to start with would be nice

It would be sufficient just to lower the tech requirements so that you could research them right of the bat. All the materials are available immediatly and it's an extremely simple recipe, yet it requires green science. Maybe the shotgun or machine gun would be better at green with an AOE being just with red.

This can be solved without giving the player ANY items using only game lore.

The player crash landed on the planet.

Crash landing knocks down trees and starts fires.

Problem solved.

Alternatively, put the bulldozer into the base game. :)
