Diagonal Screen Tearing GTX 1060 Laptop

I've got inconsistent diagonal screen tearing (line running from top left to bottom right) visible in the main menu selections or while moving around on the map. It appears to be the same problem reported on this forum here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=33323&hilit=diagonal and on the nvidia forum here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topi ... 70m-980m-/

I'm only getting the diagonal line on the laptop screen. When I use an external monitor, there is no tearing.

Anyone know of a solution for this?
