I experienced screen tearing when playing so I enabled vsync only to discover it became even worse - the whole screen is being sliced in two diagonally when moving... It happens both when playing windowed or fullscreen. Is there a way to fix the vsync/tearing via some game settings or somesuch?

Re: [0.14.7] VSync causes tearing in windowed mod
I'm running Version: 0.14.22 and experience diagonal screen tearing when moving around. I only get the tearing on the laptop display. When using an external monitor, there is no tearing.
Is there a solution for this yet?
Gigabyte Aero 14 laptop
Nvidia GTX 1060
Windows 10 64bit Home

Screen tearing can not be diagonally. If you see two different pictures separated by a diagonal line, then you have a hardware defect.Arctic_Gardener wrote:I'm running Version: 0.14.22 and experience diagonal screen tearing when moving around.

So the problem in the youtube video found here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=33323&hilit=diagonal isn't screen tearing?Screen tearing can not be diagonally. If you see two different pictures separated by a diagonal line, then you have a hardware defect.
The problem only occurs when using the dgpu. If i switch to intel integrated, no diagonal line. Also only occurs in games that don't use full screen.
Thanks,

disable v-sync in factorio and exit game. try enabling an aero theme on your desktop.
create a new game profile for factorio in nvidia control panel and disable g-sync if you're using it.
restart Factorio.
aero (desktop v-sync) works for me in both windowed, and full screen. you could try enabling v-sync (NOT g-sync) in Nvidia control panel.
if you have diagonal lines, i'm guessing you're having hardware issues. diagonal lines is not screen tearing.
