I run into the problem that I could place a blueprint but no robots were coming to do construction.
I found that the nearest roboport (which is well connected to others) contained only construction robots and not a single logistics robot - so the system (e.g. the missing logistic robots) was not able to call in the needed equipment from logistic system e.g. boxes afar.
I had to manually replace - copy out construction robots and replace them with logistic robots in order to get it into working mode - is this a normal behaviour?
Do not or should they not swap robots I such a case?

Re: Fully equipped Roboport misses robots
If you hover the mouse over a robotport, it shows an overview/count of the bots that are connected to that specific network.
If it shows a certain number of logistic bots, they should have indeed been available. (If that roboport does not show logistic bots, then it's not part of the network where those bots are actually available).
Having said that, 'putting down' a blueprint doesn't activate any logistic bots as far as I know, unless you expect your character to be restocked.
Blueprints get solely built by construction bots. (again, as far as I know)

Re: Fully equipped Roboport misses robots
Were the buildings to be constructed by said robots available in the logistics network to which said roboport was connected? If not, then that's why the robots did nothing (they didn't have buildings to place). (Side note: robots cannot take items from a requestor chest)brunzenstein wrote:I run into the problem that I could place a blueprint but no robots were coming to do construction.

Also, Roboports are not linked to the same logistic network unless their logistics areas are touching, or overlapping, so having their construction areas touch or overlap is not enough.

That was it! I did not knew that.Frightning wrote: (Side note: robots cannot take items from a requestor chest)
Thanks
Re: Fully equipped Roboport misses robots
when you placing new roboport you see if it's connected to other roboports (dashed line), it shows also when you select it, if it's not showing any dashed line, roboport is not connected to others.brunzenstein wrote:That was it! overlaping logictic areas (or rather just touching) is good, when you want to maximize coverage, but you need to zoom out somewhat to see highlights of areas. you don't need to always maximize area tho', it depends on your needs.
Re: Fully equipped Roboport misses robots
To do a blueprint construction you should:
1. Have the construction area within construction coverage of an active roboport (green, large area)
2. Have construction bots available for in the logistic network of that roboport (hover mouse over it to see total number of available bots). Roboports are connected in the same network if they intersect their orange (logistic) areas and they display a yellow dashed line.
3. Have required items available in the LOGISTIC (orange) area of the logistic network stored in provider (both active and passive) or a storage chest. You can check if items are available by also hovering over the roboport. Sad thing is that if there are too many different items available the list goes beyond visible screen area.
