I'm not sure why you would stop using a 0.1/s pump jack for e.g. producing plastic. True it doesn't produce much but you set it up when it is full and then you just add more and more oil fields to the production as they empty out. But every little bit helps. Later in the game you have e.g. 50 0.1/s pump jacks and you need each one desperately. Seems like a bad idea to use oil instead of solar, which is unlimited, for power generation.
