Hello everyone,
I would like to announce that I am working on gathering players for Factorio in our Ubercharged Gaming community. We have a pseudo-dedicated server running in the U.S. and need support from more players before we can make it official. Right now we have about 4 to 5 players and would like to expand it. Please join our Discord server here if you are interested and I can give you the server info.
Hope this helps some of you find more people to play with!
Thanks,
KoblerMan

Re: Come play on our U.S. Factorio Server - Ubercharged Gaming
Hi KoblerMan,
My name is Sarah and I'm new to factorio. I am very interested in finding friends to play together while voice chatting. I'm in WA state and I do have discord. Would your group mind helping a new player learn the game? I have read some new player guides and browsed these forums and the wiki so I do kind of know what I'm doing. I have joined a few random public multiplayer games where the focus seemed to be speed and combat, and I wasn't able to really learn the fundamentals in those games. I'm not clear on the "main bus" concept and when we get to blue science packs, the assembly areas begin to look like a spaghetti of belts to me. The few random public multiplayer games I have joined have had large frequent enemy bases which attack early on before we're ready killing most players and severely damaging the factory (because "it's fun"). In my limited experience so far, most random players are not newbie friendly and they do not have the patience to explain why they built the way they did. And they get very upset if you try to do something on your own that isn't the way they would do it. Also the games seem to fizzle out long before we approach the actual rocket launching. So I thought I'd have better luck finding a friend to help me learn on the forums. I suspect that the quality players who contribute to these forums play on private password protected servers not the open public games.
If you welcome new players, I'd love to hear more about your server and what you are doing with your factory. Feel free to add me on steam (star_dreamer). =)

Yes Stardreamer, we would love to teach you how to play! I'll personally send you a friend request and we can go from there. Feel free to join the Discord server as well.
So far, on the current map we're running, we have a massive factory with a network of trains bringing in supplies from various outposts and are in the pre-rocket silo research point in the game. Note that our game is *NOT* in peaceful mode, so the aliens expand their bases regularly and attacks *ARE* triggered from pollution. However, we are able to clear out the majority of their hives around our base, and we can give you gear enough to survive until we launch the rocket. After that we will likely be archiving the save and starting a new game, so it would be at that point that we can help you learn how to play.

Server is completely empty and no admin in days to restart an already devoid of resource map.

Unfortunately, the guy hosting our server ended up leaving our community, and we're having some problems getting another server going. I will update this thread if we figure everything out.
