Belt help [SOLVED]

Post by NewHappyRabbit »

Hey guys, I need a simple belt setup. I'm sending coal from the mines straight to all the machines and the belts are full with coal as it burns slowly.
Image
I want the number 2 belt to stop when number 1 belt is full with coal. I'm still a noob with all the machines so please keep it as simple as possible. Pictures are recommended :)

I don't really understand what your situation is, as the screenshot is so dark I can't see most of it and belt 1 and 2 seem to point to the same belt?

Can you post a screenshot during the day and explain the reason behind wanting to stop the belt?

Run a green or red wire between belt 1 and belt 2 (use electrical poles to make it reach)

Set belt 1 to read contents and hold, set belt 2 active if anything > 4

Indeed, next time post a daylight picture please.
Nexela is spot on. What ever you are trying to control, it can be done with a simple colored wire.

- Start by connecting two belt sections with a colored wire.
- Click the belt that you want to read and (1) Check the box 'Reads Belt Contents'. (2) Uncheck the box that reads 'Enable/Disable'. (3) Set Content Read Mode to 'Hold'.

- Now click the belt that you want to switch on and off and notice that the default setting is what you need here: The Mode of Operation should be 'Enable/Disable',
and below that you can enter a condition. Remember that you are setting the condition to Enable the belt, (not to Disable it).
So, for instance, the condition could be that when the 1st belt has less than 5 coal on it, the 2nd belt should keep working. (Which means that it stops working if there's 5 or more on that belt)
So you would enter: [coal] < 5

This simple set up gives you a lot of power to control all kinds of things. Mess around with it a bit. It will come in handy.

Thank you everybody, I've tried it and it works like charm! Sorry for the night picture, thought it was only dark on my monitor as I lower the brightness when I play at night, next time will definitely post a day picture! Thanks once again :) :)
