Rseding91 replied asking me to upload. I don't know how or where to do that, I hope here is okay and works well? I know how to use Imgur and FTP but that's about it, these days. I don't know what you punk kids use to ship around your save games.
MAP WITH MODS
- the actual save I play from with all mods still attached
- mod list? how do I share this?
- screenshot of my mods folder, I launch the game with
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 427520 --mod-directory "%appdata%\Factorio\mods-angelbob"
- screenshot of Process Explorer as my map loads
MAP WITH BASE RESAVED HOPEFULLY FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE
- I opened a game with just Base, loaded my map, resaved it as this file, but it still takes 13GB rams and makes my computer so slow I can't watch Sips farm on my other monitor!
What did I do? Is there an unmatched underground belt somewhere??? Help! Thank you for your time! <3

Re: 16GB memory usage on "small" factory?
As requested here is a very old backup of my save before I noticed it getting slower. All the same mods. The level.dat is only 32MB instead of 99MB. I currently suspect it was caused by the mod Nanobots_1.3.3.zip

Can you upload your mods folder too?

Re: 16GB memory usage on "small" factory?
We truly live in the future. I just casually zip up 140MB of mods and stick it on a forum. In my day it took 10 minutes to download an MP3! You could listen to it as it came in, and each time it would get longer and longer...
Re: 16GB memory usage on "small" factory?
I have the exact same issue, I run a similar modpack. My saving also takes to much time but in my case I have only 8 Gb ram, but I have no UPS issues, still 60 UPS for me. (i5 4670)
Also the saving first takes like 30 secs before the green bar appears and then the green bar goes slower then it used to be, but the biggest time is spend before the green bar.
Also if the game doesn't save for a while, my Factorio goes back to a more normal ram usage, until a new autosave starts and my ram is full again.

Pwez can you upload your mod folder to drive.google.com It should allow you to drag the mod folder into it to easily upload then just right click on the folder and get a shareable link.
I won't be able to look at the nanobots code until tonight but If there is an issue with nanobots I will do my best to fix it.
Edit just noticed OP did post their mods.

Re: 16GB memory usage on "small" factory?
Latest version of nanobots should fix this issue. Thanks to everyone who assisted in tracking this down.
Migration in the newest version will remove all old artifacts. If you have a big map with lots of nanobot usage this may eat up some memory. After the game loads take a save (it will take a little bit longer) then reload the save and you should be back down to normal ram usage.
