No, every player is assigned to a new force. But in conjonction with SpaceBook, or using factorio command lines, you can change player forces.Yehn wrote:Does this mod give players a way to join existing forces? Spacebook is overkill for what I want to do and I want it to be automated, but I also don't want every player to be FFA (unless they want to be..)

Thanky you for response. But I don't see any option for "multiple start location support" in RSO config. Which do you mean?orzelek wrote:You could use the multiple start location support in RSO to make it generate consistent starting locations.
It works with all the resources so only thing that might be missing is water. It will also use game map settings for all the starting resources.
One drawback of it is that you should collect all the players, set starting locations and then trigger regen of resources on whole map to take new starting locations into account. It will work without this step but resources might look strangely on borders of starting areas.

This is not a config option.Sacredd wrote:Thanky you for response. But I don't see any option for "multiple start location support" in RSO config. Which do you mean?orzelek wrote:You could use the multiple start location support in RSO to make it generate consistent starting locations.

It's an remote interface that RSO has and it's decribed here:

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
Me and my friend are Angel's players, with RSO the angel starting area will contain only the 6 angel ore patches without infinite ores in them.
However, this mod adds giant patches of infinite ores in the starting area which basically breaks the game.
Any plans to look into native Angel's compatibility? Specifically in the ore patch generation.
Using commands to solve the issue basically gives away his position, or gives an error since he may be too close for generation. I don't mind doing it, but it would be nice if we didn't have to.

We are using spacebook to change resorces.

If you do not want my mod to deal with ore, edit the config.lua file and diminish these valuesLight wrote:Me and my friend are Angel's players, with RSO the angel starting area will contain only the 6 angel ore patches without infinite ores in them.

ore_radius_min = 2 -- average radius of an ore zone
ore_radius_max = 3
ore_amount_min = 10 -- average amount of an ore field
ore_amount_max = 20
fluid_yield_min = 5 -- average yield in %
fluid_yield_max = 10

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
Thank you for that brilliant mod. Unfortunately the default "zone_distance" is to smal for my purposes. Of course, i can change that in the config.lua, but the clients have to do that change too to be able to connect. Since i would like to start a public server with your mod, i would like to ask you if i can upload a modified version of your mod with a biger zone_distance. Alternative you could write some extra code where players can choose their start distance via an gui or something.

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
Im looking into some PvP - action on our server.
So, i found this one and Spacebook. Both have their clear pros and cons, so...
couple of questions (sorry if they have been answered before, i read the topic, but skimped over some things)
Spacebook can be used in combination? What about the Spawning stuff?
I dont get the Question at Start (Original Post) does the first one that joins choose the mode or can each player choose seperately?

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
spacebook is more for big server management, with large teams
autopvp is for parties between friends
anyway you can use both of them together
in autopvp the first guy creating the game choose the mode : one mode per map.

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
Hello,
Thanks for this great mod.
I have a question about this mod :
I created a new map, I spawn to the map, my friends too. I put rebirth mod but if I dead before creating my rebirth center how can I do to put again the rebirth mod ?
because now nobody can kill me, and I can't kill anymore...
Need to recreate a new map ? and re build everything again ?
Regards,
Crym0

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
Note that later in the game, if your rebirth center is destroyed, or if your center does not contain enough souls, you cannot rebirth, and your death is also definitive. After all, it's a PVP game : at the end, someone has to stay the last alive player on the map and win

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
What will happen to my production/zone while I'm not connected on the server, but my friends are?
Do I become friendly to aliens while I'm offline or will they rip off my assemblies while I'm gone?
Also, is there a command line to bring one of my friend in my faction so we can do a 2 V 1 ? I saw in a previous post that we could use Spacebook, but if I could only use a command line, it would be great.
Thanks

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
well Autopvp was not written in the optic of letting your base alone...
if you do not play all together, you'd better protect your area with a solid auto defense
to protect from stupid aliens, which is easier than to protect from your human opponent...
no command line to change factions, but you can use Spacebook.

Just FYI, accents and FR chars didn't show and break display on french game, putting the FR locale file to UTF-8 solved the problem.

Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
I've made this mod compatible with Angels ores. I will post it here as soon as the mod author gives me permission to do so. The mod author also has my permission to include my changes in the core mod.
Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces
ok for me. Please post the change and I will update the mod. Did you test it without angel mod installed ? because not every player is using this angel mod.Grimshad wrote:I've made this mod compatible with Angels ores.
