Constant "Losing server connection" spikes.

Me and my brother have tried to play with eachother for a couple of days now, and no matter what we do we still keep getting the same results. When either one of us makes a server, the other person keeps getting constant "Losing connection" popups every 5 seconds or so. We live quite close to eachother (not in the same residence), and have tried connecting via the server browser while portforwarding, connecting via Hamachi and using Evolve, but it's always the same thing. When checking the "Ping" counter in the top right when pressing F5 it is around 50-60. We both have good gaming specs and good internet connection.

It's unplayable for us at the moment, and vehicles doesn't respond untill a second after the key presses. We have searched for people with the same problems, but can't find anything to help us solve it. I'm thankful for any help we can get!

provide ALL of the following information:
  • corresponding logs of server and client after a session with the issue
  • screenshot with show_time_used_percent, show_fps and show_multiyplayer_statistics activated in the debug settings (F4 -> F5) (no additional debug settings may be activated!)

still need the corresponding log from your brother (not just any log, the log that mirrors the event from your log).
Can both of you connect to public server without the issue?

His Log was lost, but we started a new game with new logs and pictures. This time we loaded without mods (but still same problems). I haven't had any problems with connecting to others, but my brother seems to have the same issue wherever he goes.

It seems the only issue is, that you have incredible high latency to one another.

Next step would be to ping each other to find out if it is a general issue:
win+R -> cmd -> ping the others IP
You should be able find out what your IP is by simply asking google.
Best post screenshots of the test results.

See the issue? Evolve will make the game traffic go through additional hops and might slow the connection down generally (the same as Hamachi) and increase the latency.

The best advice is to try and connect without any 3rd party software and if that fails make sure your firewall (or the server's firewall) isn't blocking any Factorio traffic. In rare cases it can happen that your router (or the other router) isn't able to correctly forward the traffic, but then you should be able to forward that specific port (34197 for Factorio) and successfully connect. If you still have that issue then please provide a new set of logs (from server and client). If one of you is connected using WLAN/WiFi also take this into account, some routers will add artifical latency or otherwise decrease the transmission speed, or it just might be latency from OTA (over-the-air) transmissions.

The issue is the same wether we use evolve or not, but we have found the issue. My brother has some issues with packet loss with his internet connection, so he's currently conversing with the internet provider. Thanks for all input and the quick response, you guys are great!
