Early super compact GREEN CIRCUIT
A layout I came up with today:

You forgot some Fast Inserters for the lower middle Cable Cable Assemblers... without them they won't get any Copper Plates.
Apart from that it looks surprisingly tidy. Normally compact solutions aren't that tidy.

Ahhh gotcha
Usually GC production with 8 GC-assemblers is around 20x23 tiles,

Yeah true... they are normally quite large in comparison. But most often they also allow for some Beacons (maybe not a 8x8 setup, but still some)... and also I don't know about sharing a belt for copper/iron plates. Doesn't that become a bottleneck later on?Gertibrumm wrote:Ahhh gotcha

My only issue with it is that the copper and iron requirement is not 1 to 1 so this design is going to be copper starved if you try to lengthen it or upgrade it.
If you make the middle belts iron only and move the copper belts (preferrably 2 belts or 3 lanes of copper for every 2 lanes of iron) to the outside of the copper wire assemblers sure it gets wider but it can be extended much further if you want to increase production of circuits.
If you move the belts to the outside can you bring the copper wire assemblers closer in and use just use fast inserters instead of long handed? Or will there be no space for power poles. I would have to play around with that.

Actually now that you mention it isn't this design already copper starved? 6 * .75/.5 = 9 copper/s. half a yellow belt only gives 6 2/3 copper/s
edit*** oh wait it is feeding from both sides very nice I see it now there is no need/possibility for expansion as it is an in place factory. You would just place a second once to make a second yellow belt of greens.

To actually fully fill the yellow output belt, red belts might be used as copper/iron input and also red belts might be used to compress the output belt. This is untested and a rough guess of mine but seems legit. I am not going to go through the numbers, but I think 4 to 5 stages can fully fill one yellow output belt (and drain the yellow input respectively)

This design is unfortunately copper starved. It only produces 533 circuits per minute, while the nominal speed would be 720/min. Fortunately I was able to come up with a build similar in size (18x19 instead of 19x18) that is not copper starved:

this is the layout i always use. tiled of course for a fuller belt.
later replace the lvl I copper wire assemblers for lvl II for 1:1 assemblers. i refuse to put copper wire on a belt for green circuits.

Well, i tried to find a way to make a smaller design than 18x19, but i didnt find one, in terms of "area" anyway. I found a pretty sinful 15x26 design however.

Early game you need 2 fast inserters for every copper wire assembler so its total of 6 per 1 layout as you obviously need to transfer 2 at a time. You have 2 only on central one. This may work on assembler 1 but is definitely not enough when you move to assembler 2.
