Even if I search words or phrases in the server browser, it makes no sense because it does not hit the tags.
I think that tags are meaningful only after they can search exactly, but are there any plans for future corrections?
[v<=0.14.21] For what purpose do tags exist
Re: [v<=0.14.21] For what purpose do tags exist
Have I touched something that should never interfere?
Re: [v<=0.14.21] For what purpose do tags exist
Should you answer the grounds as much as you can ?
I was left alone for about a month.
And as a result, it has been unilaterally processed and I have not received a reply.
This is too terrible response.
I know you are busy developing 0.15.
But if you are unable to do customer correspondence, should you leave this forum?

It seems like I'm making a noise with this treatment, I want to make excuses.
Firstly, without a reply, you moved this post to "not a bug".
About that, I answered "too bad".
And this post was moved to the top of "bug reports".
I don't want to make a show an exhibition of myself.

Re: [v<=0.14.21] For what purpose do tags exist
This is about tags in the multiplayer (server) browser, which server owners set in the server-settings.json and which you can set in the multiplayer lobby when hosting a game. They are displayed in the server browser but have no functionality otherwise, e.g. you can't search for them.Klonan wrote:The tags are used for sorting on the website:

The same is actually also true for tags on the mod portal. They are not displayed anywhere in the Factorio client and you can't search for them there. They are actually categories instead of tags, as you can only assign 1 per mod (technically you can, but we can't).
I don't really think it's a bug, rather not yet implemented functionality. It's an early access game and placeholders are common in that state, even if it's very unusual for Factorio. Not sure where to move this, though.

I do not know what 'tags' in 'server-settings.json' is useful for 'Factorio Mods website'.

Well there is nothing wrong with the tag functionality, because its not implemented i guess
I will move this to not a bug, but also make a note in our internal dev trello for someone to take a look at it for 0.15
Re: [v<=0.14.21] For what purpose do tags exist
Thanks for reply.
But currently with this specification, I can hardly believe 'tags' in 'server-settings.json' is really useful for players.
'I want to find servers to which mods was applied.' etc.
I think that it must be a meaning to spread routine words that should respond to the needs as described above.
